What this build is good for
This PC build is a capable mid-range system well-suited for 1080p gaming and general everyday tasks. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB are a balanced pairing that avoids significant bottlenecks for these use cases. While the system is highly functional, it includes an extreme over-allocation of RAM (128GB), which provides no performance benefit for gaming and may introduce stability challenges with memory controller loading. The Corsair MP600 CORE XT is a reliable, value-oriented PCIe 4.0 SSD that performs well for daily use, although it is a DRAMless drive. The 650W power supply is sufficient for this configuration, providing stable operation for the selected hardware components.
- 128GB RAM is excessive for the stated use cases and may impact XMP stability
- DRAMless SSD architecture may impact sustained write performance compared to DRAM-equipped drives

Useful next steps
Reduce RAM Capacity
128GB is extreme overkill for gaming and everyday use; 16GB-32GB is sufficient. Excess RAM does not improve gaming performance and can complicate memory stability when populating all four slots.
Verify XMP/BIOS Stability
If using 4 DIMMs, ensure the latest BIOS is installed on the MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK to help the CPU memory controller manage the load, as stability at XMP speeds is harder to achieve with four sticks.
